Career Counseling (SII)

Strong Interest Inventory (SII) is one of the most widely used scientific tools worldwide for measuring individuals’ areas of interest and exploring potential career paths. It was first developed in 1927 by Edward K. Strong and later updated with modern psychometric methods based on John Holland’s RIASEC theory.

SII not only supports career choice but also helps individuals understand their motivational sources, learning styles, and areas of job satisfaction. This inventory can be applied to different age groups from adolescence to adulthood and serves as a valuable guide for program selection, career transitions, or internship direction.

The results provide a multi-dimensional insight into a person’s academic tendencies, career orientations, and lifestyle preferences.

Who Is It Suitable For?

  • High school students (Grade 10 – choosing between numerical, verbal, or mixed streams)

  • High school students (Grades 11–12 – selecting universities and programs)

  • University students and recent graduates (major/minor selection, career management)

  • Professionals (career or occupational change)

Note: Since interests may evolve over time, the SII can be applied at different stages and more than once throughout one’s life.

How Does SII Work? (4 Scales)

  • GOT – General Occupational Themes (Who am I? / What motivates me?)
Based on RIASEC: Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, Conventional.

  • BIS – Basic Interest Scales (What do I enjoy?)
Analyzes 30+ specific interest areas and identifies key motivational patterns.

  • OS – Occupational Scales (Where would I find satisfaction?)
Compares your interests with those of professionals satisfied in various careers.

  • PSS – Personal Style Scales (How do I work/learn?)
Provides insights into preferred learning environments, leadership, teamwork, and risk-taking styles.
